Quit Writing

It's July 7th, which means it's time for another Insecure Writer's Support Group

"What would make you quit writing?"

You know, there's already been times where I've considered quitting writing. Those reasons were I doubted the sustainability a writing career will bring. I often wondered if I was doing the right thing. This is especially recently when I switched my college major from Writing to Computer Science. So much of my time had been spent on my writing, and I would like to see a good investment for my time. Perhaps it was because of my age, and I thought I figured out what I wanted to do but realized I didn't. Actually, my Computer Science thing goes into my writing career still. The whole point of this was to improve my knowledge of programming to better develop games and build websites and templates on my own. This was also for my Tikaani Moon brand and blogs I manage.

Anyway, perhaps the same questions could make me quit. That question of doubt if I'm doing the right thing, or if I wasted my life on writing. I do love writing, but I realized how much work is required to complete an entire book. I can get tired of the same story, reread it repeatedly, and then keep going over the same thing. It can get redundant after a while. Perhaps I'm not as mature as I thought to have the full discipline for writing, but I don't want to stop writing only to return to it later. I have also considered focusing on furthering my healthcare career (Becoming an M.D.).

Even if I tried quitting, it seems "the writer" label will always stay with me for a lifetime. It's just something that stuck, and I can't shake off. Everyone always calls me "the writer". So, I minus well fulfil my role as a writer.
